As a former basketball player and former varsity-level volleyball coach, I understand the importance of building a strong foundation in young athletes. With two young basketball players of my own, I was looking for a program that not only teaches the game but also focuses on developing the skills necessary to help players truly improve.
The Sirens program does an excellent job balancing both. Each practice dedicates time to individual skill development before transitioning into team concepts and game play, allowing athletes to grow both independently and as teammates. While we have not always had winning seasons, over the past two years I have seen tremendous growth in my daughters’ skills, confidence, and overall understanding of the game — all of which have helped them become more successful on the court.
Additionally, whenever concerns or questions have arisen, the coaches and league director have consistently been open, receptive, and willing to listen and improve based on feedback. That level of communication and commitment to the players and families truly stands out.
As someone who has been deeply involved in athletics for many years, I highly recommend this program to families looking for a positive environment focused on long-term player development and growth.
After experiencing a travel team that was focused only on winning today, I went looking for an organization focused on long term development. At our final tournament that year, we happened to see a Sirens team play, and I thought, "wow, I wish my daughter played for that team." The focus on fundamentals and teamwork was undeniable.
We joined that same team for the next season and got exactly what we hoped for and more. Every practice starts with work on fundamentals and ends with team work. There are always multiple coaches around who want nothing more than for each player to be their best. We have definitely seen the growth we hoped for and my daughter is more motivated than ever.
When they say Sirens is a family, they truly mean it. All of the coaches work together as one unit, creating a cohesive and supportive program for every player. It’s not just about player development, but character development as well—each athlete is genuinely cared for and valued. We love being in purple!
The Sirens program has been a great developmental league for our daughter. She continues to be encouraged by her coaches to be the best player she can be. This program has not only improved her skills but also grown her personal confidence on and off the court. The way all the Sirens teams support one another resembles that of a family.
We’ve been a Sirens family for a few years now and cannot say enough great things about the program, the coaches, and the girls and families we are surrounded by.
We originally joined the Sirens after realizing our daughter needed more structure, a stronger focus on fundamentals, and the opportunity to play in more competitive tournaments than what our previous program offered. The Sirens organization as a whole is very organized and focused on ensuring our daughter is not only a better basketball player, but a better person.
The coaches hold the players to high standards during practices by ensuring workouts are tough and that the girls are well-conditioned. They aren’t afraid to hold the girls to high standards both on and off the court because they always want what is best for them.
Beyond the game, the friendships my daughter has made are invaluable, and I can say the same for the families we’ve met as well. Winning is fun, too, and our group of girls has had a lot of success on the court. We know they are only going to keep getting better under the great leadership of the Sirens program.
“Watching our girls grow not only as basketball players but as teammates and leaders has been incredible — every practice and game brings new skills, bigger smiles, and memories they'll carry long after basketball. This club has found the perfect balance of competitive development and fun that has brought us back year after year”
